Unlike many electronic producers, @daktylmusic is a classically trained pianist. After training his musical ear through those all-important music lessons, Daktyl began to lose interest in sight-reading and began to create music with a friend playing acoustic guitar. He now uses his multi-instrumentalist talents and diverse musical background to make interesting beat driven grooves of a new future sound, merging Hip-hop, Soul, Garage and Bass. Producers to be found playing on his set list range from talents such as Frank Ocean, house sensations such as Justin Martin, and beatsmith accomplice The Ninetys. 2013 was undoubtedly a huge year for Daktyl with his release on The Playground gaining support from all sides of the musical spectrum. He was also invited to play at Stealth in Nottingham and all over the UK supporting acts like XXYYXX, Artful Dodger, Lunice and Baauer, and closed The Bloody Beetroots in the main room at Koko on the 9th of March. This goes no short way in describing Daktyl’s hunger for 2014, with releases forthcoming on various labels to be released soon. Keep a sharp eye out for Daktyl…Daktyl has obtained a vast array of mainstream radio support from stations such as BBC Radio 1 and won extensive exposure on tastemaking underground radio station Rinse FM alongside pioneering DJs such as Plastician to name a few.
