With Tropic Circles I wanted to experiment with a variety of ideas, tempos, sounds and styles to make something rich and colourful. I didn't want to make something predictable or derivative, I wanted the listener to go on a new journey with each track. A lot of the music was produced last summer, inspired by sunny days and good times with friends and I think you can hear that in the tracks. I grew up playing a lot of guitar, so that still plays a key role in my music whilst also exploring the creative possibilities available in modern production. Having an iPhone also allowed me to record different sounds and noises spontaneously whilst out and about and I enjoyed using these types of additional layers to create ambience within the music.
